| NITEC - Incentive System for the Creation of Technological Research and Development Nuclei in the Business Sector |

| Supports investment projects aimed at the creation of technological value added by national business structures, through the establishment of R&TD (Research and Technological Development) clusters within enterprises.
|
A R&TD cluster is a small, permanent team of three members at the most, exclusively dedicated to local development of technological competences within the enterprise; the team's activities are founded on project-based activity plans, which lead to new products, processes or systems, or induce significant improvements in the existing products, processes or systems, with effective technology incorporation.

To create R&TD internal skills within companies, as well as to foster the willingness to carry on such activities;
|
|
To reward the efforts developed by companies, in relation to design and execution, as well as in relation to knowledge development;
|
|
To favour an effective assertiveness of national firms through the offer of technologically innovative products.
|
|
|
| Industry, energy, construction, tourism, commerce and services.
|
|
|
| Support is provided in the form a non-refundable incentive, with a 30% base rate of eligible expenses.
|
This rate may be increased by the following top-ups:
|

|
|
"Territorial deconcentration" to be granted to R&TD clusters located outside of the LVT (Lisbon and Tagus Valley) NUTS II (Nomenclature of statistical territorial units) - 10%;
|
|
|
|
"Company type", to be allocated to SME R&TD clusters - 10%;
|
|
|
|
"Promoter type", to be granted to R&TD clusters projects, when their implementation involves the participation of entities from the NSTS (National Scientific and Technological System) in the forecast R&TD activities, provided that this participation accounts for at least 5% of the total amount of the eligible expenses - 10%;
|
The total value of the incentive awarded may not exceed EUR 200.000.
|
The base rate plus the abovementioned top-ups cannot exceed 50% of the eligible expenses.
